Darth Revan vs. Batman 3.75/5
The two competitors start with a grappling match. Revan quickly regains momentum. Batman is able to reverse and counter some of Revan’s offense by landing a snake eyes onto the Sith Lord. Batman goes for a cover after hitting a dropkick. Revan kicks out at one. Batman goes for another pin shortly thereafter, and again, Revan kicks out at one. Revan has an unsuccessful cover. Batman hits a devastating backstabber. He goes for the pin again. The third time is not the charm for the Caped Crusader as it is only a two-count. Revan hits a superplex and continues the onslaught by landing a lionsault. He goes for the pin, but Batman kicks out at two. Revan hits a doublestomp from the top rope, and again goes for the cover. It was another two-count. Revan lands a superkick, but Batman still hangs on. Batman wins it with a cutter!
Impressive match to kick off this episode of Thunder. Both wrestlers hit some big moves and maneuvers, but in the end, Batman took home the W. I think this is a solid win for Batman, who hasn’t been impressive in the last two years.
Dark Magician Girl vs. Poison Ivy
Ivy kicks things off with a roll-up. Ivy continues her offense by stomping and clubbing Dark Magician Girl while she is on the ground. DMG reverses with an acrobatic, swinging hurricanranna. Ivy lands a stun gun onto the Duel Monster. She then drops a devastating leg off the top rope. She goes for the cover, but DMG kicks out at two. She then clotheslines DMG over the top rope. DMG then whips Ivy into the steps with another hurricanranna. Ivy then hits a Pele kick onto DMG. DMG hits a DDT onto the super-villain. DMG then unleashes her own offense, which includes a splash and a suplex. She goes for the cover, but Ivy kicks out at one.
DMG then drop kicks Ivy outside the ring. She then climbs to the top rope to hit an elbow drop outside the ring. DMG then hits a Frankensteiner. Ivy regains some momentum by hitting a double underhook suplex. Ivy goes for the cover, but DMG grabs the rope. DMG hits a tornado DDT. DMG goes for a cover, but Ivy grabs the rope to break it up. Ivy then hits a series of suplexes. She then drops a knee across DMG’s face. Ivy goes for the cover, but DMG kicks out with a millisecond left. Ivy lands a brainbuster. Ivy goes for another cover, but again, DMG kicks out. She then rolls outside the ring, but Ivy is right there to continue the onslaught. Ivy hits another series of suplexes. It exhausts both competitors. Ivy is able to crawl over and drape her arm across DMG.
This almost fifteen-minute match was great! Both wrestlers put on a helluva show! You could see the anguish and pain in both wrestlers’ faces as they unleashed their best moves to just have the opponent kick out at the last possible moment. This was definitely a match that could give DMG some momentum moving forward.
Doomfist (C) vs. Green Arrow vs. V vs. Cooler
(Fatal Four-Way Hardcore Title Match)
Green Arrow immediately goes for a Crucifix into a pin, but Cooler kicks out. Doomfist and V take the fighting outside. V whips Doomfist back into the ring. Green Arrow goes for another pin, but V is there to break it up moments later. V continues fighting Doomfist and Green Arrow continues fighting Cooler. Green Arrow hits a spear on Doomfist. Cooler goes for a cover on Doomfist, but V breaks it up. He hits a backstabber onto Cooler. Doomfist lands a superpunch onto Cooler. V goes for the cover on Cooler, but Frieza’s brother kicks out. V hits a flying lariat to break up a pin. Doomfist then rolls outside to fight Cooler. Green Arrow joins him outside. Green Arrow hits a Frankensteiner and rolls it up into a pin, but Doomfist grabs the rope to break it up. Meanwhile, V hits a spinebuster.
Doomfist grabs a ladder, but Cooler is there to hit it out of his hands. Green Arrow hits a reverse DDT and follows it up with a frog splash. He was mere moments from winning the Hardcore Championship. Green Arrow also tries to cover Cooler, but he kicks out at two. Green Arrow unleashes a devastating offense on everyone. Doomfist misses a superpunch, but Green Arrow is unable to take advantage of it. Green Arrow clotheslines the champ outside the ring. V follows Green Arrow outside. Cooler hits a cutter onto V and goes for the cover. It was just a near-fall. He tries the same tactic, but this time, Green Arrow breaks it up. Cooler is all alone in the ring and tries a dirty pin. Even that isn’t enough as V kicks out. Doomfist hits another superpunch onto Green Arrow. He lands yet another one onto Cooler. He goes for the cover, but Cooler kicks out a two. Doomfist grabs some brass knuckles and lands a clubbing blow onto V. That busts his face right open.
Doomfist then turns his attention to Green Arrow. He goes for the pin, but Green Arrow kicks out. Green Arrow busts Cooler’s face open. He goes for the pin, but it was broken up. V goes for a dirty pin, but Green Arrow breaks it up. Doomfist hits another superpunch on Green Arrow. Green Arrow goes for a quick cover over Cooler, but V is there to break it up. V goes for a cover on Cooler, but Green Arrow is there to break it up. Cooler goes for a cover on V, but Green Arrow breaks it up, too. He then goes for a cover on Doomfist. The champ kicks out at two. Green Arrow goes for a cover on V, but Cooler breaks it up. Doomfist swings Green Arrow into the barricade. Green Arrow lands a piledriver onto Doomfist. Green Arrow goes for a pin, but Doomfist kicks out. Doomfist hits another superman punch onto Cooler. Doomfist punishes Green Arrow outside the ring. Cooler wins it with a “Cross-Rhodes”. Green Arrow was just about to break it up, but it was too little, too late.
For being the B show, this episode of Thunder has great matches! Cooler, the new Hardcore Champion, carved a name for himself with this win. All four competitors, especially Green Arrow, put up great offenses and showed just how much punishment and pain can take.
Jack-6 vs. Ironman 3/5
Jack-6 wastes no time by suplexing Ironman. The Avenger gains some momentum, which includes hitting an over castle. Ironman goes for a pin, but it was only a one-count. Jack-6 goes for a cover. Ironman kicked out easily. He then hits a powerbomb, but Ironman prevents him from comboing it with another move. Ironman, taking one out of Jack-6’s playbook, lands a series of suplexes. He goes for another cover, but Jack-6 kicks out at one. Ironman hits a devastating uppercut. He goes for another cover, but it was only a near fall. Jack-6 wins it with a spinning powerslam.
Ironman did better than I thought we would have. He put up a decent fight against the hulking Jack-6, but really one moved put him away. This shows just how dangerous Jack-6 is even when he is on the defensive for most of the match.
